Understanding Meet-up request

At Purfurry, we carefully select and onboard our Purf Boarders, and we trust the community of pet care providers on our platform. At the same time, we believe pet parents should feel completely confident about where their pets will stay.

That’s why we offer the option to request a Meet-up before confirming your booking.

This quick in-person meeting allows you and your Purf Boarder to connect, see the boarding environment, introduce your pet, and make sure everything feels right. It’s simply a chance for both sides to do a vibe check and ensure the stay will be comfortable for everyone involved.

We strongly encourage pet parents and boarders to take advantage of this opportunity, especially for first-time bookings.

Below are a few simple dos and don’ts to help make your Meet-up smooth and productive.

Meet-up Guidelines

We want you and your Purf Boarder to vibe before your pet’s stay. To help with that, Purfurry offers a Free Meet-up where pet parents and pet care providers can meet once before confirming a booking

This Meet-up is meant to be a simple vibe check — an opportunity to see if the environment, expectations, and personalities are a good fit for your pet.

Please note that this Meet-up is optional but recommended, especially for first-time bookings.

For Pet Parents

What You Should Do

  • Bring your pet along so the boarder can observe their behavior and temperament.
  • Be transparent about your pet, including:
  • Personality and energy level
  • Medical conditions or allergies
  • Feeding schedule
  • Behavioral traits such as anxiety, barking, or aggression triggers

Ask questions about the stay, such as:

  • Daily routine and supervision
  • Sleeping arrangements
  • Exercise and playtime
  • Whether other pets will be present
  • Dietary options

Observe the environment to make sure it feels safe and comfortable for your pet.

Confirm important details such as drop-off and pick-up times, food requirements, and special instructions.

What You Should Not Do

  • Do not treat the Meet-up as a trial boarding session.
  • Do not leave your pet with the boarder during the Meet-up.
  • Do not bring sick, injured, or un-vaccinated pets.
  • Do not attempt to complete payments outside the Purfurry platform.

Purfurry monitors Meet-ups closely. Any patterns or customer complaints related to payments outside the platform may result in immediate removal from the platform.

For Pet Care Providers

What You Should Do

Create a calm and welcoming environment for the pet. Ask detailed questions about the pet’s behavior, diet, medical needs, and daily routine.

Explain your boarding setup, including:

  • Daily routine
  • Sleeping arrangements
  • Exercise and playtime
  • Emergency handling procedures

Introduce other pets carefully, if applicable. Be honest about your experience, comfort level, and capacity.

What You Should Not Do

  • Do not accept pets you are not comfortable handling.
  • Do not allow pets to interact unsupervised during the Meet-up.
  • Do not request or accept payments outside the Purfurry platform.
  • Do not allow the pet to stay overnight during the Meet-up.
